Black Friday is November 29th and Cyber Monday is on the 2nd December.
And to be clear OCM earn nothing from any of the links in this post.
Perhaps the best deals on Black Friday/Cyber Monday are in past years but all the technology companies and retailers will be having " Sales ".
So lets explore what OCM would be looking for in 2024, if the price is right of course.
Tip #1 - Any New PC's or Laptops With Microsoft Windows 10 Could Be Black Friday Bargains
You would be looking for any new old stock items that came with Windows 10. They should be considerably cheaper than new Windows 11 machines. There is one critical condition -- make sure that the specification of any potential purchase has a TPM 2.0 module/chip NOT anything else ie TMP or TMP 1.0. Why, because these devices will qualify for the free upgrade to Windows 11 and you should save £££'s.
Tip #2 - Windows 11 Copilot+ Pc's
Copilot+ PC's have AI dedicated hardware and features that other Windows 11 Pcs do not. Without any subscription.
Copilot+ Pc's will be more expensive but there will be significant discounts and all businesses should be now be at the stage of evaluating AI within their workflows. Microsoft has a sale.
Tip #3 - Google Chromebook Plus
We are big fans of chromebooks and just like Copilot + Pc's , Chromebook Plus indicates an enhanced hardware spec and special AI features built into the operating system, again , without additional subscriptions.
Tip #4 - Mobile Devices
If you feeling patriotic then the Nothing Phone is a UK company who make a great mid range Android phone and they have a Black Friday sale.
But as always, the best value phones are the Motorla range with the cheapest phone being only £79 including VAT and shipping. On top of this they are trade-ins as well.
Tip #5 - Subscriptions
Adobe has a range of discounts across a number of their products.
Always Check That The Deals Are Worth Taking!
Black Friday is not the blockbuster it once was. The retailers are savvy to online shopping habits and it pays to use as many tools as you can to verify that you cannot purchase the device elsewhere cheaper! Using Ai tools may help especially now chatgtp has a search function ( likely fed by Microsoft Bing ).
Heres an example of bad practice in our opinion :-
Until yesterday this Chromebook Plus was retailing direct from Acer on Ebay at £550.00 . The price has gone up for Black Friday! Update ! if you proceed to buy it , it still at the old price :-) with an additional 5% discount .
Good Luck everybody.
